Pet ages in order: Newborn to Full Grown

A Normal pet has six growth stages: Newborn → Junior → Pre-Teen → Teen → Post-Teen → Full Grown. Full Grown is the final Normal age and is required before four identical pets can be combined into a Neon.

What comes after each Adopt Me pet age?

Newborn → Junior, Junior → Pre-Teen, Pre-Teen → Teen, Teen → Post-Teen, and Post-Teen → Full Grown. So, what comes after Post-Teen? Full Grown. After Full Grown, the pet can earn Friendship Levels; Friendship is not another Normal age label.

How the pet age bar works

The age bar fills as you complete the care Needs shown in-game, such as feeding, showering, sleeping, playing, walking, or riding. When the progress threshold is reached, the current age changes to the next stage. Rarity affects the amount of progress needed, so exact XP/Needs totals should be checked against the current game rather than copied from old charts.

What is the Newborn bar in Adopt Me?

The Newborn bar is simply the age-progress bar shown while a Normal pet is at its first stage, Newborn. Complete the care Needs that appear in your current session; when that progress reaches the in-game threshold, the pet moves to Junior. The bar is not a separate currency or a permanent value meter, and this guide does not publish an unsourced task total for it.

Pet ages, values and retired pets

Age answers and trade-value answers are separate intents. Use this page for Adopt Me pet ages and the age bar, then open the value list for dated community estimates. A retired egg or a newly released pet such as Three Blind Mice may have demand, but no value number is shown here unless the same form and unit are currently verified.

How pet aging works now

The official Pet Pen update says up to four pets can age passively: 8 Needs per hour / 800 XP while online and 2 Needs per hour / 200 XP while offline. Pets can complete one full age level in the Pen, then you must visit them to keep growing. Neon pets can use Pet Pens, but Friendship Levels cannot be earned there.

Aging by rarity, XP and Needs

Rarity changes how much progress is needed for later stages. The current game and the official September 2025 rebalance are the source of truth for exact numbers; this guide intentionally does not publish a stale pre-rebalance task chart. If you need an exact total, verify it in the current game before relying on it.

Age-Up Potions and faster aging

The Age-Up Potion guide covers Standard, Tiny and Super Age-Up Potions. The official 2026 notes say Super Age-Up Potion grants 18,300 XP, enough to take even a Legendary from Newborn to Full Grown, while Bonus Aging Potion temporarily gives 1.2× aging. These are current update facts, not permanent availability promises.

What happens after Full Grown?

Full Grown is the final Normal age. A fully-aged pet can then earn Friendship Levels; completing a Friendship Level rewards an Age-Up Potion. The 2026 Birthday Magic update also added a gift whenever a pet levels up, with possible rewards including Bucks, food, potions, gifts or chests, and Nursery eggs. Pet Pens do not earn Friendship Levels.

Normal ages to Neon ages
